Driving Tour in Moscow

Country forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Russia

Dear Lonely Planet readers!

Me and my cousin are in Moscow for 1 afternoon/day in November.

We'd love to see a bit of the city when we arrive. Ideally by car as we do not want to do to much walking in the cold after little sleep/much traveling.

The only guided tour by car I found was 150 euros per person. This seems to be a bit too steep! (moscowprivatetours.com)

Does anybody know a English speaking guide who can drive us around by car, show us the main tourist attractions, give a bit of explanation and maybe stop at a bar for a few wodka shot or two?

We are off course more than willing to make it worth his/her time! :)

Would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,

Duncan.

If your one-day stay in Moscow falls on a working day, then a car tour in the afternoon is a bad idea from the start. All you will see is traffic jams.

Frostbite right it's probably not the best idea during the working days... Maybe the bus tour would be the best option for you in this case? Like hop on hop off bus? You can sit inside, get off at the stop by the Arbat street and have a few drinks at one of the bars there and get back on the bus after. It wouldn't be as expensive also like a private tour.
