Driving distances in Namibia

Hello,

We are planning to go to Namibia this November. I would like to know what are the driving distances and times between the following destinations.

We are planning to rent a 4WD.

Windhoek - Etosha

Etosha - Swakopmund

Etosha - Damaraland

Etosha - Swakopmund

Swakopmund - Sesriem

Sesriem - Windhoek

The driving times will depend on how fast you drive, but most of the legs you mention will be half a day, except Etosha- Swakopmund, which is a day.

My general rule in Namibia is everything is about 5-6hrs drive.

All your above sectors pretty much fit in to this, except I'm not sure where in Damaraland you mean. If it's any help - Etosha to Opuwa fit into my 5-6hr rule.

Speed limit on tarred roads is generally 120km/hr. But you'll only be able to do 80km/hr on gravel. So even though eg Swakopmund to Sesriem looks close enough - it will still take you 5-6hrs. The scenery is stunning anyway, and you'll want to stop along the way.
