Dresden for New Years

Hi,

I'm visiting Dresden for New Years eve this year. Are there any big concerts, club nights or events on in the city at this time? Is new years a big deal over there?

I'm afraid I don't know about Dresden specifically - but yes, NYE is generally a big thing in Germany. You'll find the streets full and lots of fireworks.

I think there will be a lot of parties. don't know, where you will be staying but if you go to "Neustadt" in the evening, there are a lot of bars and pubs and clubs and i am sure you will find something. during midnight i would go down to the elbe-river as it is a beautiful picture: the fireworks above the frauenkirche and the brühlsche terrasse. have a look into the "sax" thats the journal where all events for dresden are listed for one month.
