DOLINA ROZTOKI HUT @ PLACE TO STORE BACKPACK

Hello,
I want to do a hiking trip to Morskie Oko. I will start by bus fr Zakopane to Polana Palenica, and then hiking to Morskie Oko - the asphalt road. My problem is my heavy backpack. I need to store my backpacks and only take necessary items with me to Morskie Oko. From my reading, I udstd that there is no place to store my backpacks at the bus station, which leave me with only one option - Dolina Roztoki Hut. Has anyone done this before? How far is the hut from Polana Palenice stop and how much they charge you? Is the route going to the hut is the same going to the lake?
Plz be inform that I dont intend to go back to Zakopane for my bags bcos after Morskie Oko (stay a night there), I am hiking back to Polana Palenica and take a bus to Tatranska Lomnica.

I passed Roztuki Hut on my way to Morskie Oko some years ago doing exactly as you intend to do...if my recollection is correct it's about 3 kms out of PP and not far off the (same) road that takes you to the lake...

What I can tell you however is that the road to the lake is approx 9 kms long and took me 90 minutes or so, walking at a 'good clip' (with no backpack)...if you do have to take your pack to Morskie Oko Hut, you might like to know there is a horse-drawn carriage that does the route...also, the road is a gradual gradient that isn't too taxing...so you could take the carriage up and hike back down perhaps if you have plenty of energy...))

Opppsss the hut is 3kms out of PP? That's a long distance to cover with a 20kgs plus weight. Anyway, you hv any idea how much is the horse-drawn carriage charge and does it still operating by late November?
You did it in 90mins time? Wow...that's fast!!! I need to ask one more thing....do I stop at PP, or Lysa Polana? In some websites, I read that I must get down at Lysa Polana. Which one is correct?

I wouldn't count on the horse carriage in November.
Apart from the Dolina Roztoki hut (which indeed is roughly 3 km away on a level road) you could try 2 other options:
* get off the bus at Łysa Polana, 3 km before Polana Palenica. It's the border crossing to Slovakia with a building which was used for border controls before Schengen. There might be a shop/currency exchange/border guards post in that building, where you could try leaving your bags. There also used to be a small shop on the Slovak side, less than 500 m from the border. Don't know if it's open in November though.
* if you find nothing at Łysa Polana, catch a ride to Polana Palenica where there might be a souvenir stall or a shelter used by car park attendants.

All the buses go to Polana Palenica.

Thanks igor...I can try yr suggestion...but its quite risky in terms of whether or not the shops still exist, or if they are, we never know if they are willing to let me store my backpack. Besides, I hv checked the bus time table....the bus only run twice a day, meaning that it's going to be a long wait for another bus if there is no place for me to store my bag in Lysa Polana...unless, I walk the 3kms to Dolina Roztoki hut....
If someone who is about to do the same route as this one very soon and read this post, plz can you check this out for me....

I havent been there yet...but I figured out a way alredy :) What I am going to do is...I. will tk the 8am bus fr Zakopane, straight to Tatranska Lomnica, and stored my baggage at the hostel which I will be staying in TL. Then, I shall board the 11.45 bus fr TL to Lysa Polana, and fr there hike to Morskie Oko....
I wonder why I didnt think about this before :)

Morskie Oko Hut was under renovation and the weather was very bad on the day that I planned to go there. So in the end, I hv to let go the idea and went straight fr Zakopane to Tatranska Lomnica.

That's a pity, Anita...if the weather had been decent it would still have been worthwhile to hike from PP to Morskie Oko and back just to enjoy the wonderful scenery...
