diving out of mandado on the spot

Hey!

I'm currently in Bali - if I wanted to catch a flight to Mandado and dive Bunaken and surrounding areas can I just pop up there and find accomodations and diving on the spot? Or is this way to dodgy of a plan for the time? I'd like to stay in "upper economy" budget places.

Any recommendations?

There will be NO PROBLEM finding accommodations on Bunaken, even in July and August. But you will be paying higher airfare if you book at the last minute, although the prices are much much lower now than several years ago due to substantially increased competition between domestic airlines. Lion Air is probably the cheapest for advanced bookings. You may want to take 2 flights --- Bali to Makasar and go up to see the Tana Toraja region; then fly Makasar to Manado a few days later. Take a look at a good website for accommodations and diving --- www.sulawesi-info.com Living Colours is a good choice for accommodations and diving; also Lorenzo2 is a good choice OR the cheaper original Lorenzos --- all of these places are on the East Beach.

the problem is is the flight going to manado within this week. school holidays.... i have check with lion and garuda .all are fully booked except if you are lucky you can get the business class
