Diving in Goa, India

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to get my advanced open water certification while I'm in India, I'm leaning toward doing it in Goa because that is a stop I already wanted to make. So my questions to you are: have you been diving in Goa? If so, how was it? Worth staying to do my AOW? And would you recommend Goa Diving vs. Barracuda Diving and why (or other dive shops that might be there)?

Also... I am NAUI OW certified, so can I do a PADI AOW? My dive instructor said yes, websites I've seen say no, so I'm not sure what I should believe. I know I have a lot of questions, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

A little bit about my experience with diving: I did my NAUI OW in Honduras and also did some diving in Thailand.

I'm going to be going on a trip through the Indian Subcontinent in January 2011 and am just trying to start gathering some information :)

I don't know which website says no, but as a NAUI (or SSI, IDD, YMCA, etc.) open water diver you can do a PADI Advanced open water course.
