Diving Caribbean Coast Ven Col

Country forums / South America / Venezuela

Hola buceadores,

The plan is to travel along the coast from Caracas to Cartagena for 3 weeks Starting Sun, 9th Nov. Can anybody please recommend dive operators and dive sites except Los Roques, San Andres and Providencia ? I am not looking for courses as I am certified already.

Many thanks.

There is one in Cepe. Cepe is a very smal village 25km from Choroni which you only can reach by boat. I'm sure You can find it easy on internet.

Hello,

You may want to try Mochima, the Henri Pittier National Park, which includes Cepe and La Cienaga. Alas all the coral in Morrocoy has died off so it is not as spectacular as it once was. There is also a place out there where few have ventured to go. It is a place approx 2km off-shore from the Miranda state coastline. It is called Farallon Centinela, a jutt of rock sticking out of the water. Home to big fish! Being meaning to go myself!

All the best,

Thomas

Hi,
Myself and my partner are coming to venezuela in July and will stay for 3 weeks (July 25th to 14th August). We are both qualified Divers, and are heading to Mochima National Park, and plan to do lots of diving and snorkelling. Our budget for accomodation is $30 maximum per room per night ($15 per person). Can anyone recommend a good dive company. We prefer small operations with small groups, and we prefer quiet and tranquil accomodation.

Is it worth travelling to Margarita Island also, or would this be more hassle than it is worth - is there plenty of diving, snorkelling and jungle treks in Mochima to keep us busy for 3 weeks.

Hope to hear back with some suggestions.

Thanks,
Ruth.
