This is my first message on this forum, so hello to everyone! I have recently spent 6 weeks in Indonesia where I got my Open Water and Advanced Open Water certificates on Gili Trawangan. For the moment I am working in Australia, but the 1. oct I am heading back to Asia - only thing is I don't know where I am going yet!?! I know a want to go to a place that has good diving and good facilities/instructors for taking a Rescue Diver and Divemaster certificate. Does anyone has any experiences as to where would be better? Also please take into consideration that it will be in Oct-Nov.

| mcdorf11:37 UTC04 Sep 2007 | Oh yeah, I should add that money is a bit of an issue. I would like to be able to do it for ~1000$US... In Indo I could do it for 1050 (Rescue+Divemaster)...

| stephenphuket12:16 UTC05 Sep 2007 | That is a great price for the rescue and dive-master 1000 us. Here in Thailand you are going to find it hard to get it any cheaper, may be in Koh Tao. As they do internships.

| stevenl16:32 UTC05 Sep 2007 | October the season starts on the Andaman side, if you decide to come to Thailand, I would recommend going there. The courses will be a bit more expensive than on Koh Tao e.g., but will in general be of good quality. Plus: after the DM, you can go to the Similans, and enjoy the best diving Thailand has to offer.

| dterner112:40 UTC07 Sep 2007 | Hey, Just did my Dive Master in Koh Tao, and it WAS really "by the book" and a good value. I can recommend Crystal Dive Resort on Koh Tao if you are into it. Fast, efficient, and professional.

I've just booked my Dm course with simple life divers on koh tao, I completed my efr and res courses with them last time and want to complete my Dm then stay on for a couple of weeks after(maybe Work). The price I got quoted was under a 1,000$ us so email them and see what they can do, They have a great location right on the beach in Sai ree.
The rescue courses were serious but loads of fun, they have a great bunch of customers who seem to come back every year ex Adv,Res and Dm's that now have real jobs, in the real world!!! I've told the guys there that I will be there around about oct,nov and can't wait to go back.
Check out the simple life group on face book and you will see what i mean!!!

| bmj25712:44 UTC11 Sep 2007 | Did my DM with Sea Dragon at Khao Lak and it was fantastic - included 2 liveaboard trips which were free so it made the value even better. Would recommend them for all courses and liveaboards as they are good at their job and great fun. The diving in the Similans isn't exactly bad either!
