I wonder if any restaurants open for lunch other than the hotel restaurant? Can you suggest some?

The UAE clamps down of places serving food until Iftar keep your fingers crossed you can get food from your hotel in the day.There are tons of Iftars buffets so look in the time out dubai magizine for some places.

Very good quality have 2 iraqi restaurants Samadi (in Muraqabat, Deira ) and Bayt al Baghdadi (Deira)..reasonable price for very good high quality food.
On the creek in the Gulf Creek club is Q'ds and Boardwalk - very nice environment and food. Wont break your bank.
