Defence Dept decisions relayed to parliament.

Could anyone in the know please read this link, and tell me exactly how long does it take for a defence decision to be relayed to parliament, in this case Defence Minister Brendan Nelson. This guy is going to end up with several bucketloads of egg on his face after announcing this not only to the press, but also in response to a question raised by Labor Defence spokesman Joel Fitzgibbon. The article is from a story presumably sourced from the AAP, however this link doesnt give the authors name. The information contained within this article is wrong, severely so, however unfortunately I cant go into details. If anybody can tell me the original author, well a case of beer would be forthcoming. Not travel related I know, so my apologies in advance for any abuse forthcoming.

I should clarify and say that the Minister has presumably given the wrong information to the media.
