Dead Sea listed among 14 finalists for new wonders of the natural world

From The Jerusalem Post: The Dead Sea has been listed among 14 other sites as a finalist in a worldwide internet vote to choose the seven natural wonders of the world, according to a Reuters report Tuesday.
Other natural phenomena on the list include the Amazon River, the Galapagos Islands, the Grand Canyon and the Great Barrier Reef, organizers were quoted as saying.
In July 2007, according to the report, over 100 million people voted to choose the seven new, man-made wonders of the world.

Let's hope it will encourage the Israeli authorities to protect the Dead Sea cause right now, it's slowly disappearing.

It certainly wouldn't make the UN list due to the amount of water extraction from the River Jordan
