Day trips questions - krabi & phuket

Hi all, I was making my detailed thailand trip and ran into 2 issues. Both concern Day trips. Can someone please advise.

The first one concerns Koh Lanta - I want to do the 4 island trip there. But for that I have stay in Lanta. So my question is, is it possible to have a 4 island Lanta tour arranged from Krabi?

The 2nd one is about Phi Phi - I shall be taking a 6 island Day trip from Phuket. However I do not want to return with the tour party and instead would like to spend one night in Phi Phi. So my question is, is there any tour from Phuket, which stops at Ko Phi Phi last and/or stays behind for the evening fire dance shows in Phi Phi.

It will be great is the experts can help me out with these two.

There are nightly fire dance shows at probably 3 bars at Krabi's Ton Sai.

You can get tours out of Krabi, but they go to the islands in the Krabi area. It is doubtful that you would find a boat trip out of Krabi that goes to the Trang Islands you linked, it's just too far to go in one day (by boat). No doubt if you wanted to throw money at it, you could find a a travel agent who would book you a taxi at 5am to take you by road to Lanta in time to join a day trip from there to the Trang Islands. Of course, you will pay through the nose for it.

Probably, but it would be difficult to find out in advance, as they might change schedules on the day, depending on tides, etc. You'd probably have to email agencies to ask, but probably still won't get much of a useful answer.

It's unlikely they would sail from Phi Phi to Phuket after dark.

Thanks for the answers. So the Lanta part is kind of ruled out. I may still have luck with the "phi phi last" types.

One last question - could you recommend which part of Lanta to stay, if I want to be close to the pick-up and drop-off points of the "4 island trip"

Most trips will go out of Siladen, the town on the North coast. It is possible to stay in the town, although it is not especially glamorous - most people prefer the beach resorts down the West coast.

The further South you go, the nicer it is, (but you are further from Siladen).

Yes, I'd say so. The swim through the long dark tunnel to the hidden beach is a unique experience. Kradan beach is very beautiful. Like the Similans, these are popular destinations and will be very busy in peak season. When are you going?

I shall be seeing ko Tao, ko samui marine park, krabi 7 island tour, staying at phi phi (seeing maya bay et all), visiting Pha Nga bay, Similan islands - so I was wondering whats going to be new in Lanta 4 island trip?

just a tunnel swim to a hidden beach? I shall have enough snorkeling, swimming kayaking and "viewing" choices. I do not dive. so whats new for me in Lanta?

Well, yes. They are all island trips with islandy stuff - beaches, rocky cliffs, snorkelling. If you will be all islanded-out by then, then there's no need to do another one.

I still have time to decide - in the meanwhile I shall solicit other view points - does the Lanta 4 island trip hold anything new for a person (except the tunnel to hidden beach) who will be doing day trips to ko tao, ko samui marine reserve, krabi 7 islands trip, staying in phi phi, visiting similan islands from phuket?

If i am not convinced, then i shall cancel ko lanta altogether. Its a major pain getting there anyway. So its got to be something really special/unique that will keep Lanta on my list.

Ok I have cancelled Lanta. And cancelled it will remain unless someone can give me some real compelling reasons.
