Darjeeling Romance

Country forums / Indian Subcontinent / India

Hello,

My fiance and I are thinking of Darjeeling as a honeymoon spot. We don't have very much time and a friend said it is lovely in August. Can anyone advise on the truth of this as well as nice hotels, ect?

Thanks,

Zach

darjeeling is a lovely place all year around but the monsoons are there in august and it gets heavy rain. if you can live with that, go , if you can't then go somewhere else. mountain views are limited at this time.

plenty of nice hotels there.

happy travelling

If it's your honeymoon you might like to stay at Hotel Windamere. You'll feel like you're back at the time of the Raj. The staff are superb and the rooms are immaculate. I know it's your honeymoon, but if you want a TV, ask for a room in the new wing. This is an absolutely lovely place to stay in my opinion. Google it for more info.

I agree with the Windamere suggestion.
Also, check out New Elgin.

Both very pretty hotels.
