| utila_dive_centre14:32 UTC23 Sep 2009 | So Zelaya got back in... I can't speak of what is happening on the mainland but let me update you on the situation on the Bay Islands. On Monday the 21st September we recognised the overnight curfew. As ever, the authorities were very fair and allowed us all to buy our necessary supplies. The following day, after talking to the authorities on the mainland, the curfew was lifted throughout the Bay Islands. There are no restrictions here, all businesses are now open and our Dive Centres are running as normal. As of the morning of Wednesday 23rd, there is still a curfew on the mainland. We have staff in constant contact who are in San Pedro and La Ceiba who have been grounded in these cities fr the last 2 days but are safe. They have not heard of any violence in and around where they are staying. They wil be back in Utila as soon as the transport systems start running again. We have just spoken to the ferry office and they say they may run a ferry from La Ceiba to Utila today. We're taking it hour by hour at the moment and I'll update this thread as soon as I get more information. Take care and if you're stuck on the mainland, be patient and we'll see you soon

| utila_dive_centre15:10 UTC23 Sep 2009 | ok guys,
the ferry is running this afternoon from la Ceiba to Utila. I hear it is at 3pm but I would get there much, much earlier just in case. The curfew is lifted between 10am and 4pm on the mainland so there should be transport links up and running. Good luck!

| utila_dive_centre21:09 UTC24 Sep 2009 | The curfew has been lifted on the mainland! All borders are open and the transport system looks to be getting back to normal. There are some flight delays but all in all not bad. The ferry to Utila are running twice a day. Long may it continue! .
