Cultural, musical, artistic experiences in Thailand?

Hi folks,

A friend of mine who is a female Brazilian musician is planning a 2-week trip from 19 DEC till 3 JAN, departing from HK, somewhere in southeast Asia mainland. She is looking for any kind of musical, artistic, cultural festival, centres, manifestations, groups, whatever related to these areas. She does not want to take the touristic path. We did a lot of research on Google and could not find anything. If you had any experience related to these, can you please share with us? Many thanks in advance!
