Cuba to Colombia and back -- tips?Country forums / Cuba / Cuba
Hi, planning another Cuba trip for Winter, and bringing some helpful tools with me with me to donate for repairs of the hurricane, was wondering
What's difficult ? Have you tried looking on skyscanner ? Avianca and Cubana both fly Havana to Bogota, I believe. | 1
Thanks, nothing difficult, i'm just unfamiliar with hot to get into other parts of South and Latin America from Cuba, thanks | 2
I flew Avianca once Panama - Bogota - Madrid which was fine. | 3
I fly Avianca to Bogota 3-4 times a year and a couple of times via Panama (COPA has direct flights from PTY to Medellin). They are both under the same mileage program which is surprisingly generous. Do expect to be thoroughly checked by Cuban customs and anti-drugs unit, I've been held for up to two hours at times awaiting for my anti-drug results (in once case FIVE of my co-passengers tested positive). | 4
Any particular experience about these airlines, safety and otherwise? I've never flown them, wondering also if i can collect on European mileage cards some points :) thanks again | 5
Both Avianca and Copa are part of Star Alliance so you should be able to get credit with another Star Alliance member. | 6
Thanks, i'm star alliance, so this is great, as i fly Lufthansa, TAP etc. here... also, do both fly fairly modern airplanes? | 7
