Croatia in October Help Please!!

Country forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Croatia

Hi,
We want to go to Croatia for the first two weeks of October, we have a three year old boy.

We are looking for warmth, beaches and great architecture.

We have never visited before, any recomendations?

Thanks

Gavin

You don't say what mode of transport you're using.
Croatia is not a tiny country.
May I suggest Dubrovnik?? It is just stunning and flights into their airport are not expensive.
Beautiful ancient town and lots of day trips at affordable prices by road and boat.
Happy travelling.... Kriss - Manchester.

If you are looking for warmth in october, then you got to go south of Split. For instance, Hvar island/city has the most sunny days in CRO, nice architecture and some nice beaches. I recommend it.

Dubrovnik is by far the most expensive town in Croatia. If you want to save some money, go to smaller towns near bigger centers such as Split. I recommend Omiš or Trogir. Omiš has beautiful beaches, Trogir is on the Unesco list because of its beautiful architecture. Both are 30 min drive from Split.

in 2 week take 3 destination-- Dubrovnik - Hvar - Split

Split is a great town to visit as it has plenty of architectural sites to see, you are 'living' in a museum and there are good restaurants/bars and the town is very child friendly. Trogir is a little quiet by October and you need to go to Ciovo to find good beaches. Hvar is always a great place to visit and is generally warmer/sunnier than the mainland and again good restaurants/bars.

My advice is Dubrovnik, prices are almost the same as any other destinations... Split is too big town...
There is a lot places to visit while you are there and visit Montenegro and Bosnia.... Rent a car????
