Clueless- ish!

Interest forums / Kids To Go

Hiya,

I'm planning a trip with my daughter for 2015, she will be 7 when we leave in the March or April (trying to work out a rough time frame before deciding what month to go as Edith isn't very tolerant of the heat). I'm planning to take things fairly slowly, interspersing travelling around with longer stays in a set place to allow rest stops for young one!

My plan so far consists of:

Fly UK to Barca (2 or 3 days in Barca)

Train Barca to Tarragona (2 days)

Where from here? Don't really fancy going through the costa's so should we head inland for a while? And where? I want to generally keep heading west towards Nerja.

Nerja (3 or 4 weeks)

Ferry Morocco- Dock in Tangier then onward to Fes/Casa/Marrakech- do I consider hiring a car or will public transport be good around and between these destinations, I've heard lots of different stories? I'm also not really sure how long I should allow for this part of the trip- I was thinking 3 weeks- is that unrealistic?

Fly Marrakech to Naples (3 or 4 weeks in Naples)

Train Naples to Rome (3 or 4 days)

Rome to ??- Not really excited by Pisa or Florence, am I a fool? Any other suggestions?

?? to Venice (2 or 3 days)

Venice to ??- I'm not overly concerned with deciding where to go after point yet.

In total, I'm planning around 6-9 months away. After Venice, we will be travelling back towards home (UK), I think. I'd like to build in one more rest stop along the way. We will probably end the trip in Amsterdam, taking the ferry across to Harwich, although that isn't set in stone.

Any suggestions/comments/ideas would be really appreciated,

Thanks,

Amy :D
