Churchill, MB

What does the train from Winnipeg to Churchill cost, and how long does it take? I have a thing for train trips, and the destination isn't always as important as the trip itself. Still, it'd be nice if there's something to do in Churchill itself. I did this trip with my family as a very youngster, but don't remember anything. Are the polar bears the only attraction to Churchill?

A senior gets to take a free companion and it doesn't have to be another senior. The train takes two nights and one day and on top of that it is often late. The expensive part of it is buying a berth. It is actaully cheaper to take Grey Goose Buslines from Winnipeg to Thompson and stay in a bed and breakfast and then board the train there for the last night. That is what we are doing in October. You can also go for a husky dog ride in Churchill. In the summer there are beluga whales.
