Child missing father in Bungoma, Mt Elgon-please help

Country forums / Africa / Kenya

My name is Terri and I run an orphanage in Tanzania. (www.tzkids.org) I am looking for TRAVELERS TO MT ELGON OR BUNGOMA or BUSIA Kenya.

One of our former street boys, Emmanuel, is looking for his Kenyan father, Richard Juma Wasweta or his brothers Samson and Onyango of the Luo tribe. We have done a lot of research in Kenya and Tanzania and now believe that Richard Juma is living in Bungoma, Kenya and working as a farmer, probably driving a tractor. He was seen there three years ago. If we are SURE that we have found his father, we have a sponsor for another trip to Kenya, but for now our resources are limited to the internet...a challenge in Africa.

We believe that if we post notices in all the places where people vote on election day (December 27, 2007) someone will know these names and help us. We are aiming for Bungoma and Busia, but anywhere in the western region could help.

Emmanuel is such a good young man. He is like a son to me. He is so sweet that you would never believe he lived on the streets. His picture is on our website and his story on our blogsite. He is in secondary school and fully sponsored. He asks no help from his father, only to know him. His mother died in 2004. His father was a stable, responsible Kenyan man living in Tanzania. When his wife began to decline he took his two older sons back to Kenya, but could not take Emmanuel because he was an infant.

Please help us to get these signs posted! We ask for any email or phone contacts that you have for the district of Bungoma. Please email me and I will send you the notice that needs to be posted or any additional information. info@tzkids.org

Thank you so much.
Terri
