Cheapest visa for Mocambique

Country forums / Africa / Mozambique

Hey,
I'm planning to visit mocambique (propably in may 2012) but we're quite flexible from where we are coming. right now we're living as volunteers in Lesotho and South Africa and thinking also about going via Malawi or Tanzania (take a flight somewhere there and cross the border overland).
Does anyone know, depending from which country you're coming, where the visa is the cheapest? For example: I heard that some South African borders take R800 but in summer 2010 i paid 30 dollars from Malawi to Mocambique.
And is there any difference between overland-crossing and flying to mocambique?
Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

I paid 25 American Dollars from Swaziland to Mozambique, but that was 2 years ago so will probably have increased. I wish all visas for African countries were this cheap!

It went up to 675 Rand, 85 US$ - at least that´s the price at South African border posts in Dec 2011 for EU passport holders, receipt given. A lot of money for a lousy sticker in your passport.

exactly, a lot of money... but thanks for both answers!

Just got a Mozambique visa in Zanzibar. It's US$70.

Get your visa from an Mozambique embassy which is much cheaper than at the border. In October 2011 I paid 30 Euro in Germany and some girls got it even cheaper in Mbabane/Swaziland.
