cheapest option on travel to stockholm from manchester, uk

I have been on the usual budget flight sites and comparison airline sites and this is usually the way i obtain my tickets to travel to sweden. However, I hope to get some other ideas from thorn tree members. I have left it so late to book that most fares have gone up sharply for the dates I want (BETWEEN 11TH AND 18TH AUGUST). I am not a student and cannot think of any way to travel there and back very cheaply. Any ideas????????????

British Midland is the cheapes when I look (that was in the middle og your period).
Could easily get a one-way for something like 120 GBP incl. ALL fees and tax. To me it is cheap - but if you were expecting "give away" tickets (those that do not cover the fuel! - in the middle of summer - 2 weeks before - well ......

Try expanding your search to include other airports like Liverpool, Leeds, or Birmingham. From all these places you can get a cheapish bus to Manchester. i would not recommend the train unless you book tickets in advance, as it can be very expensive to buy a train ticket on the day
