Cheap and safe hotels in Caracas

I am travelling to Caracas in July with one other and I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a hotel which is relatively cheap and in a safe (ish) neighbourhood?

Hola Maguich,

Budget hotels in Caracas are in pretty shady neighbourhoods, such as the hotels around Plaza Venezuela. Other cheap hotels are love motels, which are not your ideal place to crash.

There are a couple of hotels in the Altamira area which are reasonably priced and are located in a safe (ish) neighbourhood. In fact Altamira is probably the safest neighbourhood in Caracas. The Hotels are La Floresta and Hotel Altamira, the fist slightly better located than the second.
