| spoerle21:42 UTC21 Oct 2007 | Hello, in all of these cities I have an aunt. She is very nice and is used to lend out here appartment for the price of 2 US-dollar per night incl. breakfeast. If this is not too much for you, please let me know more about you, your plans and dates. Thanks

| everbrite06:21 UTC22 Oct 2007 | I suggest that you start by searching the New Russia Sticky as most of the information your want is there.
Also try using the search engine for each city and there might be a few other posts. Look especially for some relatively recent posts by manulike who stopped in Khabarovsk and Vladivostok.
Not sure how you intend to get from Komsomolsk na Amure to Vlad. Or from Severobaikalsk to Irkutsk in winter as the hydrofoil only operates in summer and there is no other direct connection. Please use Your Train - CIS train schedule, Die Bahn or Russian Train Site This last site is in Russian but it is available in in English RZD Eng for a limited number of cities and then it leads you to the Russian only pages.
For Moscow and Irkutsk there are hostels. For Moscow they are listed in the sticky message. For Irkutsk, try Baikal Hostel and Downtown Hostel. For homestays in Irkutsk try Elena, Helen's Homestay or Jack Sheremetoff, the Baikaler
For homestay exchanges try: hospitalityclub.org couchsurfing.com place2stay.net globalfreeloaders.com
