Ceuta-Algeciras ferryCountry forums / Africa / Morocco
Is there a ferry between Ceuta-the Spanish enclave located within Morocco and Algeciras.
Yes. | 1 | |
You could get a ferry direct to Tangier if that is where you would like to go. I think. Or from Tarifa. That would save you having to think about getting from Ceuta and people from answering your questions. | 2
I have a hard time believing they would discontinuing that ferry, but I suppose anything is possible. Ceuta is near Tetouan, a Moroccan city on the Mediterranean side on Morocco, east of Tangiers 30 miles or so. For people transiting to Meknes, Fes, Chefchauen, etc. Ceuta is the more convenient ferry to take. Personally I have always had good luck with the Ceuta ferry and getting in to/out of Morocco and Ceuta with a minimum of hassle, and much prefer it to the Tangiers ferry. Your experience may differ. | 3
Nonsense about discontinuing the Ceuta-Algeciras ferry, for Ceutans it is the lifeline to the "peninsula" and too many people use it on a regular basis, commuting for work. You won't have any problem taking it, unless the weather is so bad on that particular day that they have to suspend it. Normally there are hourly departures from 7 in the morning to to 9 in the evening with three different ferry companies. Best way to get to Ceuta from Tangier is a grand taxi to F'nideq, the last Moroccan town before the border. Then you walk across. | 4
