Catching some live sport in Vancouver - Basketball/Ice Hockey/Baseball

Country forums / Canada / Canada

Hello fellow travellers,

I'm adventuring around Vancouver through to Calgary in early September, and currently have one free day in Vancouver which I'd love to use to catch a live game. I seem to have found that Ice Hockey season doesn't kick off until October, but I just wondered if there were any recommendations for what's available and good fun to go see?

Anything unusual or off the beaten track is very welcome!

Thank you for any help you can offer,
Happy Travels!

You could catch some professional soccer. The Vancouver Whitecaps FC play home games at BC Place stadium. Check their website whitecapsfc.com for more.

Great, thank you - yes there seem to be some games on, much appreciated!

You could try to see a game of lacrosse - don't know what the schedules are. I saw a memorable game many years ago in August in Nanaimo so imagine there are games available - it was between two First Nations teams - very intense.
