Canon EOS 20D in Vientiane or LP?

I'm looking to either rent or buy a battery or the charger. I stupidly left my spares in the checked luggage which is now somewhere in China, according to Laos Airlines, after five days of searching for it. I'm currently in Vientiane but can go to Luang Prabang if I can get the battery or charger up there. I've searched in the camera shops around the Nam Phu fountain already.
Any help is extremely appreciated. Thanks--

Then you might try the back side of the morning market where they sell a lot of used stuff. I'd comb through the whole place before giving up. If it was a big deal I might take the 2 hr bus to that big shopping center in Udon Thani Thailand.

PS Maybe you will have to go to Thailand, LP seems to be a forlorn hope..

If you still need the bits - I have here in VTE which I could sell as I now have a new camera. Let me know.

Thanks, everyone, very much for the tips (and Butch_N for the offer!)! I actually found a photographer who sent me to a Canon store off Lane Xang. The woman knew exactly what I needed and got me a charger!

I forgot to include where the Canon store is:

If you walk away from the river on Lane Xang, walk past the market and VN Bank. On that intersection make a left and the Canon store will be in either the first or second block to your left. The lady overstocks on Canon-compatible items.
