3 Night stay in Skardu City

Can anyone recommend a nice place?

Thanks for the help!

Bonjour from Islamabad,

The flights to Skardu are subject to weather, often cancelled during winters.

Skardu is a nice town, opne could visit the Kharpocho fort (King of forts ) built by Ali Sher Khan Anchan, from Skardu.

I'd the 2nd to suggest Mushabroom hotel, a lovely place for your stay besides K2 Motel in Skardu city.

Bon voyage mon ami ..

My personal experience in My Stays Skardu: Dewan-e-Khas

I would Highly Recommend this Hotel if you are on a budget and yet would like to stay in a decent clean Place. Nice Hotel with very conservative room rates. Rooms were pretty small but clean. Service was good. Restaurant food the variety is well sufficient For dinner.

A number of hotels in Skardu close in mid-November and I am not sure that the Shangri-La will be open. Some years the Masherbrum closed about November 10th, but earlier this month they told me that would remain open for the entire winter. There asking rate is 1800 rupees/night,but should come down for a three night stay if you ask. Make sure you get a stream side room as they have huge glass south facing windows and warm up nicely on sunny days. The north rooms are frigid in the winter and have no views. Both the Concordia hotel and Diwani Khaas are cold in the winter and have poor daylight. The food is relatively good at the Masherbrum, and they often have fairly large local functionary dinners held there. Diwani Khaas used to have excellent food, including many local Balti specialty dishes that you would not find elsewhere, but they apparently have lost their good cook and I heard the food was now rather mediocre.

i think it is better to choose when you get to skardu and then you can decide what kind of hotel you need...

Agreed with rakaposhipahar that most hotels including Shangrila resort,K2 Motel (PTDC) re already closed so no chance though you could stay in Concordia motel next to PTDC hotel which is open all year round.

Sher Ali is not the owner of Concordia Hotel any more?

Please Always Give the Right Advice.. i don't like your Recommended Mshabrom Hotel The hotel location was OK But The Rooms are like a big store.no hot water.. I had a Fight with Hotel staff just to get clean & neat room. The Food is also very bad, We had a very bad Experience During one night.

And we moved to Another Dewan Hotel, it was Good This is a Great Small Hotel with friendly Staff and in a Great Location free wi-fi. Breakfast buffet style . Easy to get to Bazaar.

The one who has recommended Masharbrom hotel has never stayed there that's why he recommends it.

"Please Always Give the Right Advice.."

you were given multiple suggestions here including the hotel you mentioned, if you have read all the posts. So how can say that you are not given the right advice? Imo you look like a genuine traveler otherwise it sounds like a hotel tout...

I stayed in the Masherbrum in November and probably about 100 days or more over the last decade or so, and have always been treated with respect and friendliness and if there were problems they were fixed. Also stayed in the Diwani Khas in the winter and the rooms had no sunlight, were very dark, small and cramped, and it was 6 C in the room in early November, and no garden to speak of, only a concrete parking lot.. There is no view whatsover. Concordia is frigid in the winter, but ok but dark in the summer, but very nice views and nice garden. Different priorites, but I like space, warmth, sunshine, and views. Generally if a traveler acts like a jerk, he will be treated like a jerk.
