Buying a mountain bike in ThailandInterest forums / On Your Bike
Hi has anyone bought a MTB in Thailand specifically Phuket. I am looking for for a good hardtail to buy what might it cost I would spend up to $35000 baht.
Has anyone bought from Probike in BKK? | 1
I bought some stuff there about a month ago and they had some pretty decent bikes. Mainly Treks and maybe Gary Fisher's iirc. | 2
I like the Cannasia bike shop near the Bumrungrad Hospital on Sukhumvit Soi 3. (Nana) | 3
I spent a few days in Phuket town and didn't see any decent bike shops - you could probably pick up a cheapy. Best to buy in Bangkok. | 4
Cannasia seems to cater foreigners only, or very rich Thai, at least the owner will let you know you're not the type... | 5
There's a Bicycle shop out near Nonthaburi that is a branch of Pro Bike and because it's not near the center of BKK it's alot cheaper. | 6
There are also shops with bikes to hire springing up around khaosan road samsen with one I know I think soi 2 selling bikes. We will also be hiring bikes out to travellers aswell as the tours we already operate. M.T. Hill Mountain Bike Adventure Tours Edited by: nthilltours | 7
There's about a half dozen good bike shops in Bangkok (Google it), but be warned - prices are about 20% higher here than in most other countries and the selection is somewhat limited. As mentioned above, the Cannondale distributor in Bangkok (and in Singapore) have pretty dodgy reputations and should be avoided at all costs - unless you're very, very rich. | 8
