Busan to Kobe or Osaka by boat or ferry

Country forums / North-East Asia / South Korea

I am planning on going from South Korea to Japan, specifically to Kobe and want to know what kind of ferries are available. Osaka would do just as well. I will be in Seoul but think Busan is the place to get a ferry to Japan. Are their weekly/daily ferries to Kansai and if so where to they arrive? How much is a one way ticket and how long does it take?

There are others too in the search function which is a handy tool.

Thanks, I did in fact search, apparently not very well as the info I found was from 2007 someone talking about what they did 4 years prior. Thanks!

The most frequent ferry is Busan-Fukuoka, every day about $80 each way. From there you can take the train up to wherever. I think there's an infrequent one that goes closer to Osaka but not all the way

me and my friend took a ferry from Busan to Shimonoseki in Japan, cost around 80$ one way.
when we arrived to South Korea we asked the maneger of the hostel to call and book a round way ticket for us, two weeks later we arrived to the port in Busan, paid and got our tickets, no problems.

where does the Busan Osaka ferry terminate? Does anyone know which ferry terminal in Osaka it operates out of?

At a terminal near the Cosmo Square metro station on the Chuo metro line I think. The above thread states that too. We're doing this route (Busan to Osaka) in the first week of November. Does anyone know what days of the week the ferry leaves Busan for Osaka. I get inconsistent info from different websites. We want to leave Busan on a Friday (or Thursday as a second preference). Panstar schedule Ah, I just found what appears to be an up to date schedule.
