bus strike in eastern nepal

i'm in dharan right now after getting off the trail through the arun valley from namche and i'm stuck here!!! there is a bus strike and the buses do not run during the day and hardly at night...my friends got a bus to kathmandu last night after 5 but i'm trying to get to karthabitta towards india and darjeeling but i can't get anywhere. i'm stuck here till they decide to stop which is hopefully soon, but i don't know...stay out of eastern terrai if you plan on going anywhere...safe travels
