bus station locations - from Amman-Madaba-Dead Sea-Wadi Musa-Wadi Rum-AqabaCountry forums / Middle East / Jordan
Hi there, I'm traveling solo and would probably take public transport from these locations. Can you tell me where the bus stations/depots are located if that is my route? My schedule is a bit tight and I'm trying to see as much as I can so it would be great to know beforehand where I should head to catch the main buses between these points. Also, is it feasible to just rent a car and see much more sights easier and quicker? I only have 6 nights in Jordan and plan on spending 1 night in Wadi Musa, Wadi Rum and Aqaba. Is it possible to rent a car in Amman and drop it off in the South (Aqaba, preferably)? Or is renting a taxi more feasible? Cheers!
If you want to see "as much as possible", a rented car is the "best" option but try to have a realistic program otherwise it should be frustrating. Michel | 1
hi what are your dates? I am also from the US and traveling solo from March 25-30 | 2
Most of people speak English and then, it's always easy to have the good information. Michel | 3
Hey Druan234 - I'll be there from April 10 to 16 then in Israel from 17 to 20. What are your plans so far? | 4
I will be there next week from Mar 25-30 | 5
I got that. I meant, where are you going and how are you getting from one place to the next? | 6
Solo traveler there are western orientated hotels and hostels both in Jordan and in Israel.I recommend Abrahm hostel in Jerusalem. | 7
hi-- after some research into buses and taxis, I have decided to rent a car for the time that I am there. It seems to be the cheapest option and gives me the flexibility I need. I have read driving is easy and you drive on the right which is the same as the US. Driving in Amman might be tricky but I am ready for the challenge! I recommend you do the same, I saw good deals for cars on kayak.com for $30 -$40 a day, all inclusive except gas. | 8
Hey Duran, I briefly considered that but I'm crossing to Israel from Aqaba. Do you know if the rental companies would allow you to return to another location? I don't want to drive back up to Amman from Petra/Wadi Rum and then go back down again. What sites are you planning on seeing?

I honestly dont know. Best to check with the car company. I am renting from Easy Car Rental- they seem to be good and have cheap rentals | 10
... and I plan to see Amman, Mt Nebo, Madaba, Jerash, Petra and Wadi Rum. If I have time then Karak and Umm Qais too.. | 11
If you use the King Highway you will pass through Kerak. Michel | 12
I thought that Dana NR was a very worthwhile stopover and (day) hiking destination. No mention of it here? Why has it fallen out of favour? | 13
