budget hotel yokan at Ueno Station

Hi
I may have a quick over-nighter after arriving at Narita late and beginning train trip to Kyushu Island the following morning early (in mid May). I would like a very convenient, inexpensive place to stay in route, like Ueno Station as I can get train from Narita to there and leave again the next morning on Shinkansen. BTW, I am traveling with my husband and 8yr daughter. Any suggestions for easy hotel yokan for this purpose? Thanks,

the first two that come to mind in ueno are:

ryokan sawanoya
annex katsutaro

We stayed at "Hotel Green Capital" for about 11-12 thousand yen (double) a night. Quite okay. About 200-300 yards from "Iriya" gate of Ueno station in the far north-east corner. Also stayed at Hotel Komatsu, about 5000-yen (single) per night. Literally 100 yards east of station in a side street round the corner from Yoshinoya restaurant. A little shabby but okay for such a convenient location.
Remember to give yourself enough time to get from Ueno to Tokyo by train and then find your Shinkansen at the other end of Tokyo station!

Just stayed at oak hotel, about 10 minute walk from Ueno Station. Very clean, nice. Free internet. Not bad at all.

I'm not sure how easy it is to use if you arent in Australia (I'd say very easy) but this website is run in conjunction with flight centre and it appears pretty good. we booked all our accom for Japan via our travel agent picking only from this site ...
