Buddha Park

I don't see too much talk of Buddha Park on this forum....

Anyway, just wondering how far out (time wise) the Buddha Park is from Vientiane?

Also, is it still possible to tour the Beer Lao factory outside vientiane?

this forum is NOT replacing travelguides, so whats clearly written in there, no need to ask! it s rougjhly across from NKhai/Thaild, so a 20/30 min ride away from town, can do on the cheap bus or hire tuktuk/jumbo.

Last time I was at the Beer Lao factory there was a sign with a phone number to call for tours. It was October, so the information was current as of then.

I got a tuktuk out there and also stopped at the culture park on the way. Even though I was practically the only person there, I found it interesting. A guide there showed me over some of the ethnic minority houses which was a real treat. Budha park is so odd, it's really a good idea to go. There is a local bus.

You can take a local bus, if I remember correctly it took about 40 minutes. On the way back from the Buddha park we stopped off at the Beer Lao factory. This was 2 years ago when they were not giving tours - I got a free beer and my wife got a free water. I also bought a key chain - which I use every day - nice memory of Laos.

We really enjoyed the Buddha Park - loved going inside the big pumpkin. We also enjoyed a nice ice cream break.

#1- I opted not to get a travel guide as I prefer to get the most current info from forums like this.
