bucharest to sighisoara

Hi, am thinking of getting train from bucharest to sighisoara, anyone any idea how easy it is....do you nbeed to book in advance, how much etc,how long. Am hoping to get accommodation in sighisoara, is that relatively easy, would rather not pre book if possible, am taking my 12 yr old son and would like to give him an idea of what backpacking is like and be spontaneous as far as is possible and safe! Thank you. :)

According to the lp guide, theres 6 buses a day and takes 6 hours.

9 trains and takes 4 1/2 hours.

Hi, it's very easy! Bucuresti-Segesvár(Sighisoara) is one of the most important railway line in Romania with several trains every day, just go to the staion, buy your ticket and hop on the train.

and when there-go out of station-use eyes-follow signs-this is 21st cent RO and a prime tourist draw-signs will scream at you from any side about cheap lodging-etc. you mat even be approached by eager ladies trying to rent out their spare rooms-but Brasov is far more famous for that
Actually it woks like that about anywhere on the continent in Europe-trains are not planes, not always overflowing full-and go many times a day without any prebooking needed. its also just 1 price for all-unlike in that exBR system on the britsh isles

Thanks for prompt replys! Have now changed plans , flying to timisoara so need to get to sigisoara from there, a little harder maybe, but sure will be ok. Any advice for easiest route?

from to timisoara you dont have direct train so you have to
use to go via ather point for example:

1. via arad , so ...
   timisoara nord - arad 50 minute
   arad - sighisoara 4.40 - 5 hours.

another option is :

timisoara nord - teius : 4.29 - 5.17 hours
teius - sighisoara : 1.30 - 1.40 hours
