I am planning on buying a Breitling watch on my trip to Dubai in Sept. I just wanted to know the average prices of the watches in comparison to the UK. The model I have seen in the UK is retailing at £2000, I have been told told that I could possibly avail up to 40% off buying there.

Unless you are an expert in Breitling watches you should beware of bying them at hudge discounts. Look at the Breitling web site. You may be getting a fake one. I purchsed three fake ones in Thailand for US $30 each and one of them was good enough to fool a dealer.
