booking bus tickets from abroad

I need to book bus tickets from santiago to puerto montt for february for four people. i have been unable to book the tickets online. Does anyone have any recommendations travel agency that can book these tickets for me? Flights are close to $300 for the date I need so we really need to book a bus.

Have travelled all over South Am on busses and never booked tickets online. Never had problems getting a bus ticket directly at bus stations or from local travel office either on the day of travel or a day before.

Agreed, there are constantly buses up and down this highway and you can always find a seat. The only possible exception is the end of summer holidays in February, but that should be towards Santiago not away from it. We got caught up in this (going from Osorno to Santiago) and even then, when all the direct buses were sold out, we simply got a bus to Concepcion and then another to Santiago, and it only took a couple extra hours.

Try Buses Cruz del Sur. Two people have now reported being able to pay online for seats with them.
