Biking in Spain

Just starting to research a self guided 5-6 night bike tour in Spain. Is the Basque country the best region to do this in ? or is there better? I like the idea of coastal and inland views. Any ideas are welcomed and if you know of a good bike tour company, please share. We would probably add a day or 2 for non-biking as well. Thanks.

When (impact of heat)?
Many good regions, difficult to say what's best.
I liked the region between Cadaques, Figueres and Portbou (+ Collioure in France)
For five days you could do a loop Figueres, Besalu, Olot and from there the 'via verde through Girona to San Feliu de Guixols along the coast to Cadaques and Llanca, back to Figueres will make a nice trip.

But also the area inland from Peniscola (San Mateu), the Cabo de Gata area and the very east of Andalucia near San Juan de los Terreros offers very sceneric rides. With the wonderful stage San Juan to Villaricos

Can't review Basque county.

Loads of places in Spain to do this, i prefer Asturias to the Basque country, mixing sea and inland in the Basque country can be quite tough. Southern Catalunya is also a great place to cycle mixing the Ebro Delta with a wonderful via Verde that takes you past some wonderful scenery.

Around the white villages of Andalucia from Jerez to Cadiz. but the are numerous places, a company I know of in the US is called breakaway, and they offer all of the above. A Spanish company i have used is www.s-cape.eu.

I live in the Basque Country and even if I can not give you any information about other regions, I can tell you that this part of Spain is beautiful to ride a bike. You can combine both coastal and inland views, but as Richiavo said, it can be a bit hard. It depends on you, I don't know if you are in shape. I live in the coast, so I can tell you some coastal towns: From Zarautz to Ea, for example: Zarautz-Getaria-Zumaia-Deba-Mutriku-Ondarroa-Lekeitio-Ea.
