is it possible to fly ( Thai, Bangkok airways, laos airline?)
Thx for answer

These are 2 different questions. The best way to travel, I would contend, is by river and road. However if you'd rather fly then yes it is possible to fly - a quick google search reveals a daily flight with Lao Airlines at 13:15 in the afternoon.

Fly is the quickest way.Laos airlines is cheaper than Thai/Bangkok airways.
But if you have time, let take slow boat trip from Luang Prabang to Houeisay (2days/1night) then cross the border and travel by road to Chieng Mai.

Only direct flight LPQ-CNX is Lao Airlines http://www.laoairlines.com
One flight per day depart 13:15 arrive 14:15, current web price $145.

Crikey Skipper, that's dear by Asian standards for such a short flight...

5

Hi,

$145, wow so the Best Way is NOT to fly he he.

Well flying direct probably is the best way but it is the dearest too. You get what you pay for, I suppose.

7

Actually that's the cheapest one-way fare I've seen on that route. Over the past several years it's usually been more like $160-180 depending on season. Cheeky price due to no competition from low cost carriers (so far).

Ridiculous over charge by Lao Airlines, I don’t recall they served me any red Bordeaux during fight but small banana and white bread.

It is time for AirAsia, Nok Air and Bangkok Airways to join the party.

9

Agree 100%. I am a big fan of Nok Air, AA are ok but I hate fooling around with the complexity of their website.
