Best way to obtain a Tourist Card for Cuba Country forums / Cuba / Cuba
mikelouise22:21 UTC22 Apr 2007	Hi Can anyone tell us the best / cheapest way to obtain our Tourist Cards for Cuba before August this year - thank you. We are from the UK - England. We also, at some point on our break, have to travel from Havana to Varadero, and then from Varadero to Havana airport when leaving the country for our flight home. Can anyone give us a cost effective way to do these two journeys please. Regards Mike & Louise
cheersterry22:36 UTC22 Apr 2007	If you're in London, go to the Embassy with cash and a self addressed envelope and you'll have the Tourist Card about a week later. Otherwise, lots of UK travelers swear by Visa Cuba. For travel between Havana and Varadero, check if the Viazul Bus schedule works for you. It's dependable and fairly economical. A private taxi is about 70 CUC (Cuban Convertible Pesos) each way. Have fun. Cheers, Terry	1

richardbees03:52 UTC23 Apr 2007	If you're close enough, just go to the Cuban Consulate at 167 High Holborn (9.30 - 12.30 am Mon-Fri) with £15 cash, a return ticket and passport, and you get the 'Tourist card' on the spot. or: Tourist card link	5
chumlywarner19:12 UTC24 Apr 2007	M & L #5 is correct - least that has been my experience for the past two years - take photo copies of your passport photo pages, airline reservation and hote/legal casa reservation - pay 15 big ones each and they will issue on the spot.	6
ginger_phil20:19 UTC24 Apr 2007	There's no need to actually turn up at the Cuban embassy in person - you can apply by post. The Cuban embassy website gives you a printable application form. In my experience it was essentially a next-day service - ie posted Monday, arrived back in Wednesday's post (although this may of course not be your experience).	7
