best way to get to amsterdamCountry forums / Scandinavia & the Nordics / Norway
Hi all! so i leave for europe in a little less than a month and have a quick question! I am trying to get from Oslo to amsterdam and was wondering the cheapest way to get there. I am not to worried about time so i can take ferry trains and planes! I was told to go from Oslo to Copenhagen and then fly, but i checked flight prices and it seemed a little pricey. any tips?
Car-pooling and hitchhiking excluded, flying is (alas) almost certainly the least expensive option. Norwegian fly directly to Amsterdam from Oslo for as little as NOK 349 (approx. €45) (+ NOK 60 per item of checked-in luggage). That would be cheaper than any combination of train, bus and ferry I can imagine. (That's assuming there's nothing you want to see between Oslo and Amsterdam, of course.) W. | 1
SAS and KLM also fly direct OSL to AMS, but I think KLM still has the old habit of not selling cheap one-way tickets. | 2
FLY (Norwegian have tickets from at least 350 NOK till 2000+ NOK - guess there are extras as this is a discounts airline) - remember to cheack ALL airlines on say www.momondo.com If you cannot get cheap tickets you may try to fly from Copenhagen 8more departures). Then you have to go to Copenhagen there are cheap (slow ) busses. No comfort - but seems money is the most important for you: Train will be "free" of course if you have a train pass, but the route Copenhagen - Amsterdam is slow, and even the Oslo-Copenhagen train is not direct (nobody travel so far by train anymore). | 3
