best time to travel to Nepal for 3 weeksCountry forums / Indian Subcontinent / Nepal
Hi, | ||
The best weather is from October 15, but it is also the very high season. End November December are quieter. Don't expect too much from those festivals. By far the best activity is trekking in the mountains, invest in a guidebook to know more. | 1
Good advice on when to trek by willemspie above. I like both Dashain and Tihar. I wouldn't say that one is necessarily better than the other. To really experience them, you need to become friends with a Nepali - someone that will invite you into their home. That's where you'll experience the real festival. | 2
Hi, actually this year the weather of Nepal is very surprising, actually the winter needs to be end after the Feb but the winter just ended after last week. I am sure this will shift the monsoon few weeks later on 2017, same happened with 2016 last year. Hope this wont happen. but the best time is yes Octobor and you can see Dashain and Tihar, Since you dont want to see the sacrfice of animal during festival but you will see try culture of Nepal during that , the weather is awesome and its vacation for Nepalese and lots of culutural acitvities you can see in Kathmandu area. Regarding Tihar, you will see another version of culture and people will lights their house with candles and new activities as well. | 3
