best time to go

i'm thinking of taking a 3 week trip to cr in april or may next year and was wondering which month would be the best time to go. i know that may is the start of rainy season and lp says that this is a good time to go. however, i would be looking for some beach time as well so in that case would i be better off opting for april? if by rain it means there is a short tropical downpour but sunny the rest of the time then that would be fine but i notice from climate charts there is significantly more rain in may and less sunshine. any advice would be much appreciated.

I think either of those two months will be fine. It's true that May is the start of the rainy season, but typically the entire rainy season is occassional tropical down pours in the late afternoons and evenings and sunny during the day. Keep in mind those months can fall in the Easter holiday and that is Holy week here, one of the busiest times for the entire country and accomodations are at a premium through out the country.

Hi, march and april will be the best montts to travel if you want to go to the beaches.

Good advice to avoid Easter if at all possible, it all goes nuts on the beaches.
