Best budget family accomadation in BaliInterest forums / Kids To Go
Im travelling to Bali in 5 weeks with 4 year old and 22 month old on my own
I wouldn't spend much time at all in Kuta with a family. I would NOT! It is safe and all. But pretty lame, especially for family & recovering from jet lag/etc. Kuta is NOT quiet. I didn't even like it with my husband. Unless you have been there before and know what you're in for. I stayed at Raka house in Ubud. I don't know the address, you can find it online. I have stayed a few other places, but this is by far the BEST! Plenty of people with kids there as well. Ubud does offer tranquility! My favorite "big" city in Bali. Raka house doesn't have a pool, but it is a good central place to catch your bearings and find another place to stay. It is very central, and not on the outskirts. However, it is right up the street from about 30 restaurants, spa's, library, cafe coffee shops, etc. There are some spendier places on the outskirts on rice paddies with pools. | 1

Hi , | 3 | |
We were in Bali this year and I didn't think Ubud was that great with kids as there isn't the space for them to run around. We were on the outskirts, but there was still heaps of traffic. We really enjoyed Pemuteran, which isn't a great place for a base, but I think it is worth visiting - particularly if you want to get your kids snorkelling (there is a really nice restored reef just off-shore). They also got to release baby turtles up there, and the beach was just nice for exploring (plus the mangroves a short distance away). As you can probably tell I am more into nature though, and I gather you are looking for something a bit different. We also enjoyed Nusa Lembongan (again for the space and freedom), but weren't too impressed with Sanur or Kuta. Kuta was worth spending the single night we had there - just for the experience and the water park, but I wouldn't like to spend more time. | 4
We stayed at Udayana Eco Lodge with our toddler when we first arrived in Bali a few years ago. It is pretty quiet and isolated but very nice. The closest beach is Jimbaran and we got taxis to go down there. There is a pool at the lodge though and regular cricket games and that kind of thing. They were also nursing some injured birds when we were there adn I think the owner is some kind of butterfly specialist. It is very accessible from Denpasar airport. | 5
