Best (and cheapest!) RTW Flight SiteInterest forums / Gap Year & Round the World Travel
Please tell me the site you used and if it turned out alright. Thanks.
I have done 3 around the world flights with the One World Alliance, at the time it was the cheapest, cost effective way for me to travel for my chosen routes due to Africa and South America being in my routes originating from Australia. But now days I would not recommend One World as their prices have increased dramatically and there has been an explosion of budget airlines since. the site I am now using thanks to recommendations previously on Thorn Tree is www.skyscanner.com The point is that you should not be looking for the best around the world airfare anymore. You should be buying the best airfares individually from point to point. Not only will it work out cheaper, it will give you more flexibility to your route as you are not relying on a small number of airlines or specified route for the price. Completely agree with #1 No need to buy RTW tickets..it is easier,as cheap or cheaper, less restrictive to buy individual tickets. It gives you the freedom that RTW tickets do not. | 2
Skyscanner is a good option, but not the only one. I'd look there first and then have a look at some similar sites,to see if you can get any cheaper prices/more convenient times etc. | 3
depends where youre going. I'm heading to sri lanka, india and nepal back to uk before brazil, bolivia, peru, ecuador then uk again. skyscanner got me to £1,600 but that was return uk-salvador. It would be a bitch to get to ecuador to have to fly back to brazil for the return. STA sorted it all for £1409. | 4
