Beach Accommodation in Kerala

We are heading to Kerala and are after good accommodation on or near the beach. Any recommendations?

Which beach do you have in mind (or close to which beach). How much do you want to pay? what is your idea of good accommodation. How long are you planning to be at this beach?

Indiaking

Varkala is probably the best. It has two beaches seperated by a headland. The cliff top is lined with tourist shops, restaurants, hotels and a couple of good bookshops, and that is all fringed by coconut palms: it's really quite nice.

Agree with Dukey.
Varkala is nice and plenty of accomodation to be found when you arrive.
I stayed at a place just back from the small beach at the North end. Can't remember the name but really nice.
