| goldenoldie19:58 UTC09 Jul 2007 | I really fancy going back to Bayeux [last visited 20 years ago] for a 3-4 day visit. I'm leaving from London and don't have a car.
1] What's the cheapest way of travelling there.
2] Any really cheap [but not bed-buggy] places to stay while there?
I'm not limited to weekend travel as I'm now retired [Yippee!]

Alternatively, take the Eurostar to Paris and then continue by train to Bayeux.

| goldenoldie02:50 UTC11 Jul 2007 | Many thanks, Jack and Tim. Family Home hostel certainly seems to provoke strong feelings - from "marvellous" to "disgusting" - in all the reviews I've read. Sounds like my kind of place then.
Any tips for how to book as a ferry FOOT PASSENGER? Or how to find out the price for this? Every time I go onto the site it asks me for the length of my vehicle and I can't find a simple walk-on/off anywhere.
