Bars showing the Ricky Hatton/Mayweather fight?Country forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Philippines
Hi there, can anyone suggest a bar that will be showing the boxing? ill probably be arriving on the 6th of Dec and be staying near Makati. Would like to watch it with some Brits/Man City fans. also what time would it be shown in the Philippines?
It's sure to be on in a few bars in Makati, ask around. | 1

Filipinos LOVE boxing, was in Dumaguete 2 weeks ago for Pacquiau fight, the whole city was at a standstill... not one motorbike moving!!!Just wondering why you'd fly 7000 miles and still want to meet brits abroad when you can watch it with the locals if you ask about??? Otherwise you may as well go to/ stay in manchester (except beer will be warmer & more expensive!) | 3
yeah, good point frodo. ive been to makati before and there arent many 'locals' there. if you could suggest somewhere else in manilla where i could experience a better atmosphere with a name of a bar or two id appreciate that. cheers | 4
OP...you could try the rooftop bar of the Iseya Hotel on M H Del Pilar Street. Or maybe the Amazonia just down the road. | 5
Steve, went to Amazonia last week (to meet karl), not a bad place but was shocked to find a beer costs 125 pesos! | 6
Crop...that sounds steep! was there a "show" on? | 7
No show. Was around 9.30 on a sat night. I did question it but they said thats the price. | 8
Hmmm, last time I was there they had live music on a Friday and a Saturday, which may have pushed the price up. Still seems a lot. Forget what I paid in August, but sure it wasn't that much. | 9
Yeah I wonder. The other bars are much better though and charge 150/160 for a beer (still expensive though). I have a feeling its aimed at koreans/japanese clients. | 10
