| siamesetiger17:40 UTC14 Jun 2007 | has anyone ever been barred from a hotel, guesthouse, bar or whatever in Thailand?
I have, twice. Once I was a bit annoyed when, as I was checking out of one place where I'd stayed loads of times, I clocked up 31 minutes on the internet and the guy charged me for the full hour. Within his rights I suppose, but it rubbed me up the wrong way a bit what with my being such a regular customer and there was a bit of a sharp exchange as I paid up and left. Next time I came back he said the place was full even though it was obvious that it wasn't.
then the next year I came back again and he let me stay this time, giving me this smile that basically told me my transgression was forgiven.
this other place in Pattaya also barred me. I made a telephone reservation with them and when I turned up they said they were full and a couple of other times they also said they were full when I very much doubted that they were. No idea why this was maybe I made too much noise.

You must have been a very unpleasant customer, if he still remembered you a year later.

| thaisong19:11 UTC14 Jun 2007 | So, let me get this straight - you complained about having to pay a couple of cents to a guy who probably doesn't even make $20 a day for having to put up with dozens of people like you, who think the world revolves solely around pleasing them. And then you admit "Within his rights I suppose"...it just makes me think this post is a joke because it's so absurd.
Quote
he let me stay this time

that's because he has no idea who you are! Get a clue.
I'm betting you have problems with people, or rather - people have problems with you, in your own country?? What a surprise..

| callippo20:23 UTC14 Jun 2007 | that's because he has no idea who you are! Get a clue
nonsense I must have stayed there at least thirty times in the past five years. They asked about my girlfriend, who'd stayed there with me the time before, of course they recognised me. And this was the business owner, by the way, not the hired help.
I've got a business too and you know something you never forget a regular customer's face. It's part of the job to remember them.

| mrfukui20:36 UTC14 Jun 2007 | there is a hotel in sukhumvit with a sign that says "no arabs."

| chris1222:39 UTC14 Jun 2007 | Sheesh, I should have guessed when I saw that ruddy Freedom List turn up (again!) in the Middle East branch. Ooooh, I see you're very fond of responding to your own posts (including referrring to yourself as the OP).
| 13 |
| mibro23:30 UTC14 Jun 2007 | The only place I've ever been banned from is the woman's locker room. So unfair.
I've also seen on some hotel's rate sheets in Thailand "does not apply to Middle East market", which has always bemused me. Do the mean to ban middle easterners, or just charge them more?
| 14 |
| somebodyelse01:12 UTC15 Jun 2007 | Good point Chris. Callippo could you post a list of all the handles you are instead of your usual tedious stuff?
| 15 |

| 17 |
| somebodyelse02:15 UTC15 Jun 2007 |
Quote
You wont see him for a while now you have all embarrased him

He doesn't seem unduly embarrassed to me. He's been posting elsewhere in a totally unconcerned manner and is studiously ignoring this little faux pas of his. Very uncooperative of him! Perhaps if people made a few suggestions we could make a list ourselves?
| 18 |
| somebodyelse02:25 UTC15 Jun 2007 | Oh as for me....no I'm not one of him. I'm just somebodyelse.
| 19 |
| akirakhan02:26 UTC15 Jun 2007 | He's not me!
| 20 |
| akirakhan02:27 UTC15 Jun 2007 | Wouldnt it be ironic if this thread got him barred from TT?
| 21 |

| 31 |
| trollen11:45 UTC15 Jun 2007 | >stop being such a moron. I'm simply reporting that the travel agencies in Kanchanaburi want 2000 baht to sort the punters out with a taxi to the airport, which is true. Whether you, or I, could do any better privately is something else again.
I wouldn't be such a fool to either get a taxi to the airport from Kanchanaburi for even 1200 baht when I can get there not much slower for 400 using a bus and taxi and neither would I be such a fool as to do a cookery course at the Apple, whose restrauant has been going downhill for quite some time now.<
callippo who is the moron now!
| 32 |
| chris1218:08 UTC15 Jun 2007 | Perhaps Andreas has given the clue and he's one of the 3 you mentioned, SBE, either roughhabits, coraldiver or divemaster (perhaps he likes to stay in 'dives' hence being barred?)
Anyway, he seems speechless at the moment unless he's Trollen too?
| 33 |
| trollen18:34 UTC15 Jun 2007 | No iam Just_Bob and Chanchao!
