I am not planning to take a taxi to Bangsar so what bus do I take to reach Bangsar Village? Is it safe for a solo woman to travel there alone even at night.

Mel

The safest way of traveling would probably be by taxi though...

Where are you coming from?

What is wrong with the taxi? No one gets buses in KL and there is no train station anywhere near by (20 minute walk at least). Late at night the safest transport is a taxi.

Bangsar is safe a night but I've personally seen two snatch theifs ripping hand bags off ladies. So please be careful when crossing the roads keep your bag away from the traffic side and try to avoid walking with your back to the traffic. It doesn't just happen at night either.

Check here for buses

It is safe, but agree with#2...there has been a few cases of bag snatches. Also agree that unless you are coming in from about 300Km away why not use a taxi...very cheap, safer and more convenient.

Taxis are really cheap in KL. The buses are unpredictable and difficult to figure out. I use them for getting back to town, but not so often for getting out of town, because it's hard to predict where they might go unless your destination happens to be listed on the signboard.

Also note that the RapidKL buses (which aTallMan linked to) are only a fraction of all the buses running. Some of the other companies don't publish useful maps or schedules, people just know where they go by habit and tradition.

RapidKL is trying to run the other companies out of business, though (flooding the streets with those new cheap Chinese buses and charging RM1 and up for all-day rides), so maybe things will be more uniform eventually.

Hi! you can use Putra LRT to Bangsar station, then take taxi from there, it is very near already.. taxi fare should be around MYR3-4 only..

Get a taxi and dont be so tight!
